Hello, my name is Romanel Fleming and this is the web page for "Travel Team" by Mike Lupica. This book is a book about a twelve-year-old boy named Daniel Walker. This boys father was none other than a famous basketball player named Richard Walker. Danny's mother is Ali Walker. The family has a huge history of basketball and both father and son are into the famous sport. Richie Walker got into a very bad car accident after driving drunk and lost his career a few years ago. He is still into the sport.
Poor old Danny Walker has been in a travel team until he entered seventh grade. Danny is the smallest kid on the court. This is why he could not enter the travel team this year. Danny still wants to play in a travel team and so he gets some help from his father. Richie Walker becomes a coach of a team of his own. They play at first with no chance of winning. Soon into the season, the team gets better than ever. There is one big problem. During one of the games the Danny played in, they won and they went to a big party, only his father didn't arrive yet.
Then, there is a phone call at the party and Ali Walker comes to answer. The phone call was from Richie Walker. Richie got into another accident and was sent to the hospital. This time, Richie was not drunk. Richie had simply lost control of the car. Richie is bad condition and can't coach for the team any more. Then, the parents of the team decided that Danny should coach the team for the rest of the season. In the end, Richie gets better and the family is happy once again.
